Inspired by the idea [Christopher Roeleveld](https://christopherroeleveld.com/) shared, another potential action available within long-press: "Paint"

Could start quite minimally (change color). Tho, could imagine this concept expanding to include a whole range of effects (sound, haptics, motion, etc.) that could sum into a Ping holding/inspiring a deeper/richer feeling.

### **10 August**&#x20;

A few minutes ago, I pinged what would become Ping #9827. Only to realize that I'd pinged the *exact* some thing (#9763) on July 27. Not only that, I had printed *and* taped #9763 to my computer monitor!

At first, I felt – mmm – sad (?) to have forgotten #9763. Although, while I sat in this feeling, it occurred to me that part of why I'd felt moved to ping #9827 in the first place was because of something I picked up in the Ethel Cain interview I'd been watching over the previous week.

Prior to remembering the existence of #9763, I'd assumed the resonance I felt with what Cain was describing about her time on the internet as a teen as a fresh thought. Now, I realize I'd pinged about it weeks before encountering the interview and the message she was sharing. I suppose that ping had been in me all along...

*Post-script*

So much of Ping Practice, I think lies in the everyday awareness and presence of noticing.

### **5 August**&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1732106784-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FxaQYFRJcAPhO63v4FrqX%2Fuploads%2FlhrPJDu0dbJDKno41J63%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=becbdcb0-b054-43f0-b58d-7402d37ce298" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

I "exported" a Ping and placed it within a Google Doc . Placing that ping there, thinking all that that phrase means to me, ended up helping me to get started. I wonder if even the act of the page not being empty helped.

### **2 August**

Action idea: set a ping to "public." In doing so, maybe ping is visible anywhere you've referenced it. I also wonder if there is like a centralized timeline that the ping could appear on.

Ya know, this feels like what "seeing other peoples'" pings could look like. Maybe action only available after a minimum amount of time after initial capture?

### **28 July**

Inspired by [this](https://ping-practice.gitbook.io/pings/loose#id-28-july-2025), what if another one of the actions was the ability to kind of "abstract" or "take a picture" of a Ping?

### **21 July**

With long press, I wonder if we even need the controls on the bottom in "focus" mode...

### **11 July**

Long press is inviting ideas for all sorts of other actions...

* Select / hold multiple Pings. *Think: Apple Photos*
* Parallel a Ping. Said another way: offer an alternative version of the ping you're viewing. *Think: editing but each version of the ping is saved and shown in sequence.*
* Find related Pings. *Maybe this takes the effect of generating a custom lens that would surface Pings related to the one you're viewing.*
* Print&#x20;
* Reflect on a Ping. *See* [#id-18-april-2025](https://ping-practice.gitbook.io/pings/loose#id-18-april-2025 "mention")*.*
